Last night, the official teaser trailer for this highly anticipated sequel was released during a panel at this year’s event. Star Wars Celebration and fans who waited to hear more about Cal Kestis’ story were very excited. The sequel will be named Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, and the story takes place five years after the events of Fallen Order. The game will be released on multiple platforms in 2023.

Ruthie (@ruthlessnightsister) posted a video of the event on her TikTok, where BD-1 brought fans the worldwide exclusive trailer. You can watch the video below or click here to watch it.

The official trailer was later released on YouTube for fans around the world to enjoy, get excited and start speculating about what’s to come for Cal Kestis.

You can view the trailer below or click here to watch it.

The trailer shows a Stinger Mantis apparently down on an unknown desert planet, with no sign of Cere Junda, Greez Dritus or Nightsister Merrin, who joined Cal during his journey in Jedi: Fallen Order. Although these characters do not appear in the Jedi Survivor trailer, from what you can see, things weren’t going so well for them. Looking out the cockpit window, onlookers can see a single set of footprints moving away, suggesting that Cal or another crew member escaped the accident alone, while the rest of the team’s fate remains a mystery.

The trailer also shows Cal fighting a hooded figure wielding a red lightsaber, apparently losing his lightsaber in the process. The lightsaber ends up in the hands of a mysterious power figure after being taken to safety by a group of Stormtroopers. This mysterious new character questions Cal in a rather menacing tone with narration throughout the trailer. When onlookers get a good look at him, the pointy teeth and fur suggest this is a pau’an, and it’s natural to assume it would be the Grand Inquisitor hunting Cal.

However, this cannot be the same character, as Jedi: Survivor will happen at about the same time as the Obi wan Kenobi series, and the characteristic marks on the Grand Inquisitor’s face are nowhere to be seen on this mysterious figure, not to mention the clothes he’s wearing don’t look like an Inquisitor’s uniform.

Another question that fans left to ponder was: who is the character shown in a bacta tank? Throughout the trailer, slow cookers are made around and inside the tank, revealing a suspended and seemingly unconscious character. This new character could be someone Cal can turn to for help in his darkest moments, whether he likes it or not. After all, Cal’s antagonist asks, “What’s your next move, Jedi?” just before the trailer shows this mysterious new figure, and the ominous room, coupled with Cal’s apparent dismay on his face as he looks at the figure, could mean it’s not someone he’d want to turn to.

This figure has mysterious black veins running down its shoulder, potentially signaling some sort of corruption or injury that required them to be inside this bacta tank. They could be someone essential to Cal’s survival in Jedi: Survivor and it could very well be a survivor of some sort, but maybe it’s someone who tests Cal’s commitment to his survival – this could be a Sith or someone else who follows the Dark Side, resulting in the dark look on Cal’s face. Unfortunately, the breathing mask, lighting, and flowing hair obscure the character’s face a bit, so it’s hard to guess his exact identity.
