SAN FRANCISCO – The Golden State Warriors touched down in SFO early Friday night to a hero’s welcome from hundreds of Dub Nation fans and San Francisco Mayor London Breed.
The team’s two charter planes arrived from Boston shortly before 7 p.m. NBA Finals MVP Stephen Curry could be seen holding a game ball and his new MVP trophy as he walked the track. , while defensive anchor Draymond Green carried the Larry O’Brien NBA Championship trophy. .
The team also posted a video of the triumphant Warriors disembarking from the plans to applause from the assembled fans.
When asked if this championship win was any different, Curry responded, “They’re all different. They all require a different sacrifice. We’ve got a lot of first-time champions celebrating this, so that means a lot.”
Warriors players and coaches proceeded to board waiting buses to take them back to the Chase Center. While there are no official plans for celebrations before theit is suspected that the team party will continue in SF on Friday night.
