SAN FRANCISCO — The Golden State Warriors landed early Friday night at SFO for a heroic welcome from hundreds of Dub Nation fans and the Mayor of San Francisco, London Breed.
The team’s two chartered planes arrived from Boston shortly before 7 p.m. NBA Finals MVP Stephen Curry was seen carrying a match ball and his new MVP trophy as he walked on the tarmac, while defensive anchor Draymond Green carried the Larry O’Brien NBA Championship Trophy.
The team also posted a video of the triumphant Warriors stepping out of the plans to the cheers of the gathered fans.
When asked if this championship win was different, Curry replied: “They are all different. They all require different sacrifices. We have some new champions to celebrate, so that means a lot.”
Warriors players and coaches loaded onto waiting buses to return them to Chase Center. While there are no official plans for celebrations for theit is suspected that the team party will take place on Friday evening in SF.
