Kelowna RCMP has issued a public safety warning after a woman was sexually assaulted by a stranger on June 13.

Mounties says the woman was walking near Springfield Road and Hollywood Road South from about noon to 1 p.m. when she was followed by a stranger and then forced to head toward Mission Creek, where she was sexually assaulted.
The suspect is described as a South Asian man in his mid-twenties with black hair, a manicured beard, part-shaved right eyebrow and wearing a black puffy zip-up jacket, white T-shirt and green silk sweatpants.
cpl. Tim Russell of the Kelowna Vulnerable Persons Section said in a statement: “Investigators from the Kelowna RCMP Sex Crimes Unit are actively investigating the area for video surveillance in an effort to identify and locate the suspect.”
